News About Our Station Manager - Farewell to Viv and welcome Michael to the Station Manager position (no longer job-sharing).
Our current Station Manager position has been job-shared by Vivienne Rochford and Michael Ahearn for the past couple of months, but Viv's husband Brian has been successful in obtaining a position in Canberra for six to 12 months, so Viv is leaving to move to Canberra for a while - we wish you all the best in Canberra, Viv. The Committee has appointed Michael as Station Manager (part-time but not job-sharing any more)... so congratulations Michael and please give him all the assistance you can. Michael has been a volunteer at Alpine Radio since early 2018, assisting Viv and providing technical know-how in the production studio. Michael also presents a great program called Saturday Shindig on Saturday afternoons at 4.30pm.

Outgoing Independent sitting Member for Indi, Cathy McGowan was a big part of Alpine Radio’s news service to our listeners by being interviewed regularly over the last 6 years.
We snapped Cathy with some Alpine Radio volunteers last November when she attended and officially opened the Pioneer Park New Shelter at Tawonga.
We look forward to introducing the new Member for Indi on Alpine Radio's airwaves after the 18th May 2019 general election and we hope they also will be on air with regular interviews to keep the community up to date with what’s happening in Federal politics and in Indi!
Alpine Radio will be broadcasting live in Mount Beauty from the hospital gardens at the community hospital fete on Sunday 21st April 2019. The fete promises to be a fun filled day with stalls, spinning wheels, food, children’s entertainment, a balloon magician, ice creams, lollies, plants, trees, fresh fruit, preserves and jams. Motorbikes and cars will also be displayed. The fete will be held in the Hospital gardens from 10.30am to 1.30pm. While you’re there, look out for Alpine Radio’s marquee and drop by to say, “hi”.
An excellent opportunity! Alpine Radio is looking for a part-time Station Manager to assist in the running of the station on a day to day basis. The position is a contract position, job-sharing with the current Station Manager.

The actual days/times to be worked will be negotiated between the successful applicant and the incumbent Station Manager, and, as always, we do say that this position is busy, the incumbent(s) often work more than their paid hours, so applicants should be prepared to volunteer to do a bit extra.

How is Australia experienced by the South Sudanese youth growing up here? Aguer Athian brings us some of their stories to change the current narrative, and give voice to the voiceless.
